Electrically Conductive Elastomers
Laird Technologies
ElectroSeal electrically conductive elastomers are ideal for applications requiring both environmental sealing and EMI shielding.
Electrically conductive elastomers are used for shielding electronic enclosures against electromagnetic interference (EMI). They provide environmental sealing, and excellent mechanical and electromagnetic shielding properties. Laird Technologies offers a wide variety of conductive filler materials in extruded, molded die-cut, dipensed Form-In-Place, printed and coated formats.
Usually, the shielding system consists of a conductive gasket sandwiched between a metal housing and lid.
The primary function of these gaskets is providing sufficient electrical conductivity across the enclosure/gasket/lid junction to meet grounding and EMI shielding requirements, as well as preventing fluid intrusion into the electrical components.
Laird Technologies offers conductive elastomers in ElectroSeal and ElectroMet.
ElectroSeal are dipersed filler particles in elastomers and ElectroMet is an oriented wire in solid and sponge elastomers, and impregnated wire mesh and expanded metals.
